{Foodie Friday} Granola And All It's Uses Plus Giveaway #MomSpark

GRANOLA: is a breakfast food and snack food, consisting of rolled oats, nuts, honey, and occasionally puffed rice, that is usually baked until crisp. During the baking process the mixture is stirred to maintain a loose, cereal-type consistency. Dried fruits, such as raisins and dates, are sometimes added.
In our home granola is served for breakfast or snacks, we also often eat it while hiking, camping, or just having some outdoor summer fun because it is lightweight, high in calories, and great on the go.
We often eat granola in combination with yogurt, warmed with honey, as a snack with fruits such as strawberries/bananas/blueberries, as a cold cereal with milk, or add it to other forms of cereal. I love that granola can also serve as a topping and/or ingredient in many desserts.  I personally replace oatmeal with granola a lot since it is always on hand. I love that it helps improve digestion particularly in recipes that include flax seeds

Granola has many diverse ways to enjoy it in your food but did you also know that you can make homemade scrubs with it? Just replace the oats with granola ;) Nature's Hand is a great granola product and comes in many different varieties!

We had the opportunity to try the Maple Pecan and Wild Blueberry. The Wild Blueberry was gone within an hour of it arriving on our doorstep as to why it isn't pictured above :) I opened it to top my yogurt with it and threw a handful in my mouth to give it a try first. I enjoyed it so much that little man wanted to try it too. So I put a good amount on my yogurt and gave him a bowl to snack on. Later on he came back with the empty bowl and asked if he could eat it as a side with his lunch! Of course I was excited he liked it so much but was afraid it was too much for his little stomach and so I declined his request. He is a five year old boy and knew that daddy didn't hear this conversation so after lunch he conned his father into giving him more :) Needless to say the two of them finished the bag!

I plan to make granola bars with the Maple Pecan bag and maybe even some granola raisin cookies too! You can purchase Nature's Hand Granola at many local retailers like Whole Foods and other retailers found here or purchase them directly on the website. And that's not all one lucky reader will win 2 packages of their choice of variety! Enter in the Rafflecopter form below. Good Luck!
