It's #WorldArthritisDay - Do you suffer from arthritis?

Today October 12th is World Arthritis Day!

While there is no cure for arthritis, The Arthritis Foundation wants to encourage all Americans to take simple steps that will prevent or decrease the pain and disability of arthritis. In partnership with the Ad Council, the Arthritis Foundation is launching the Take Action Against Arthritis initiative in support of World Arthritis Day on October 12, 2012. Observed every year on Oct. 12 since 1996, World Arthritis Day is part of a global awareness initiative by the United Nations-endorsed Bone and Joint Decade.

Below is Weapons of Choice video that features tennis pro Brian Teacher who fights his arthritis by playing the sport he loves.

Even if you don't suffer from arthritis personally, you most likely know of someone who does. I have arthritis in both hips and my right knee and the pain can be unbearable at times. Over the years I have found that ice is my friend, as long as I apply ice at least once a day my pain is lessened significantly. What tips do you have? You can go to the Pain Tip App and learn how to manage osteoarthritis or share a tip of your own. The Visualization Tool which allows you to share your weapons against arthritis and learn what others do in their fight against the disease.

About the Arthritis Foundation:
Striking one in every five adults and 300,000 children, arthritis is the nation’s leading cause of disability. The Arthritis Foundation is committed to raising awareness and reducing the unacceptable impact of this serious and painful disease, which can severely damage joints and rob people of living life to its fullest. The Foundation funds life-changing research that has restored mobility in patients for more than six decades; fights for health care policies that improve the lives of the millions who live with arthritis; and partners with families to provide empowering programs and information.
